From getting your product in influencers hands to collaborating on contests and running Instagram Takeovers, any time you invite others to be a part of your social media conversation, you get the benefit of extended reach. We recently invited influential women in the wine industry to help a client celebrate International Women’s Day on their page. Here are tips to think about before the Takeover day begins.
Send out your invites. Make sure you map out your “ask” clearly. Tell participants exactly what you need to make the takeover a success from content they should create to questions they should be prepared to answer. You could go live at a certain time with your takeover guest or you could have them submit content in advance giving you the opportunity to post and plan in advance.
Work out any log-in kinks. If you’re handing the “keys” to your account over for someone to log in, be sure to work out any password/security issues in advance. Instagram is notorious for flagging logins from a new location.
Map out a promotion plan. Promote your takeover event on stories, posts and email to create pre-takeover buzz. Be sure to tag your takeover guests and encourage them to promote as well.
