When COVID hit we turned to TikTok to make us smile. This network tends to be less about friends you know and more about content that entertains. It also is the network that is currently driving trends. The moment we saw this Burger King commercial tap into a popular TikTok song and noticed a TikTok music station on Sirius XM we knew the platform had transcended Gen Z.
TikTok still does skew young and may not be the right fit for your brand, especially if you are a beverage alcohol brand, but there’s no reason you can’t borrow from the trends that are happening online. Here are three ways you can take TikTok trends and apply them to your social content on other channels.
Music: What’s popular on TikTok is a great sound for Instagram and Facebook Reels. Tap into trending songs to get the most reach for your reels.
Content: It’s a weekly hunt but TikTok drives certain video content beyond just dancing and once it takes hold you see so many different riffs on the same content trend. From pointing and having words appear to making songs about Facebook Group and Nextdoor posts. What’s trending on TikTok gives you an automatic “in the know” factor on Instagram.
Influencers: If you don’t have manpower to create content for a channel of your own tap creators on influencers who already have a following. Look for paid and trade ops and get your brand in front of an engaged audience.
