No one can truly predict which way the algorithm may go, but we’ve pulled together our best bets and trends we have our eye on for 2023. Check them out and see how you can test and learn in the new year.
LoFi: As TikTok becomes a bigger player and influencer content continues to grow, we’re seeing a trend of LoFi (less curated photos) driving more engagement. This real factor seems to appeal to consumers.
Audio: Remember your first ever status? It probably was text only. Over the years social has migrated from text —> imagery —> audio. More and more trending audios are driving social content and once again, TikTok has a large influence.
Video / Reels: The Reels algorithm has simmered down some from earlier this year but short videos will most likely get you more reach and more engagement versus a still photo. We’ve also found that Reels reach new audiences whereas photos tend to reach your existing fans.
Nano Communities: Whether you’re on bourbontok or scrolling your favorite Reddit board or Facebook group, it’s never been easier to connect with people who have similar interests. Some predict social media will become less about keeping up with your friends and family and more about a curated feed of your interests. Think about how your brand can tap into these communities as you plan for 2023.
