When Black Lives Matter caused ripples across the social media waves, many marketers stopped, reassessed their social content and asked themselves what they could do on their end to be more supportive. We’ve pulled together three small steps you could take towards adding more diversity to your social channels.
Visual audit: Take a look at your feed and see what diversity exists. To make your content better you first need to know what you are lacking. Scroll through the past year and audit yourself to see what steps you need to take.
Consciously create: As you plan your content calendar make sure you do have diverse content. From hiring diverse models to pulling diverse stock photos or pulling diverse UGC.
Pull in the right partners: From ambassadors to influencers, make sure the people you partner with do represent a wider audience. As you build diversity on your staff this is one small step you can take tomorrow.
